Acquiring service gets PCI DSS guidelines validation

Valitor, a leader in cross-border acquiring services and international merchant and card solutions, said it has achieved PCI compliance. The Iceland-based company now has the ISO 27001 cerficiation for all operations, retailers, banks, savings banks and more. This in concert with PCI DSS standards forms a good foundation to help protect customers and the company.

“This new certification is an important instrument, as regards both implementing our policies in security issues, as well as meeting the requirements of the international community," explained Vidar Thorkelsson, CEO of Valitor. "The application of the validation is actually quite extensive, as requirements on the status of security affairs in companies in general have become extremely important in their communications and ability to continue as a going concern."

He continued by saying the PCI DSS standard is not the end of their security, as they will look to add other security safeguards to keep customers safe.

The PCI Security Standards website said complying with PCI DSS standards can be advantageous as it can help businesses prevent information from becoming compromised, data breaches and potential lawsuits.
