New credit card payment machine launched by UK company
ECommerce platform mPowa has introduced a new business credit card and debit card payment tool, which will enable smaller businesses and sales people to use their smartphone as a card payment machine when on the go. The company said this has the same level of data security as many banks.
"Since the financial crisis, all small business people have heard is doom and gloom," said mPowa CEO Dan Wagner. "We hope to bring them some resounding good news going into 2012 with an easy to use technology that will make their businesses faster and significantly more attractive to customers."
The new technology will enable businesses to move around and make sales on credit cards as they please. Currently, the tool works with BlackBerry, iPhone, iPad and Android devices. Businesses can customize the settings for different functions.
Innovations like this are always good for a growing industry, but businesses need to figure out their own PCI compliance, purchase SSL certificates and make sure IT security is up to par before trusting any device with customers' cards.
