New pizza sales software now following PCI compliance
SpeedLine Solutions' SpeedLine 6.3 program now has PCI DSS validation from the PCI Security Standards Council, according to the company. The software works as a pizza restaurant point of sale software.
"One of our commitments to the restaurant companies that use our products is to submit new releases of our software to rigorous security audits and recertification," said SpeedLine vice-president of development Terry Haan. "Restaurant operators are required to safeguard the privacy of their customers' credit card data and personal information. We believe we have an obligation to our customers, as their technology partner, to ensure that our software meets the latest security standards to help them maintain compliance."
PCI security auditing and validation have been standard practice at SpeedLine since 2008, the company said, and it has kept up with all new advancements in PCI and in data security. The PCI Security Standards council passed the new program earlier in December.
All merchants that accept credit or debit cards must follow PCI DSS guidelines, according to the PCI Compliance Guide. Businesses that do not may be subject to fines from the bank they use.
